Selecting the Right Breast Implant

Posted on Friday, March 14th, 2014 by Dr. Babak Dadvand

The most important aspect of breast augmentation surgery is selecting the right implant. Patients tell me that this is the most stressful part of the breast augmentation consultation for them. The reason why this can be stressful is because there are so many different sizes, shapes, and styles of implants. This can make the decision overwhelming.

There are different ways to select implant sizes, (sample implants, bags of rice, bags of water) and I have used all of these in my practice over the years. But the one limitation of all these is that they don’t always accurately predict the look of the breasts after surgery especially when the implants are placed under the muscle.

Until recently there hasn’t been a great way to give you an image of how you will look after your breast augmentation surgery. But in my office I have the most technologically advanced system to give you an actual photo of what you can look like after your surgery.

It is called the Vectra 3D System and there are less than 300 surgeons in the world who have this technology, and I am one of the first ones in southern California who believed in it so much to purchase it and incorporate it into my practice.

Breast augmentation is an art and a science and with the Vectra 3D system, I can custom select the best implant for your body type and aesthetic goals and show you a photo of your result during the consultation.
