Upper Eyelid Surgery… Quick and Simple!

One of the most straightforward surgeries I perform is upper eyelid surgery, or blepharoplasty. Patients who qualify for this procedure have excess skin in their upper eyelid area which can cause them to look tired.
One of the distinctions I need to make when evaluating a patient for an upper eyelid surgery is whether their problem is excess skin in the eyelid or whether it is their eyebrow falling down, causing the brow skin to fall over the eyelid. Doing an upper eyelid surgery in patients who really need a brow lift will not have great results.
Upper eyelid surgery is a procedure that can be done under local anesthesia with little to no pain and mild bruising. The recovery is easy compared to some other procedures.
In the photograph above, note the excess upper eyelid skin has been removed, improving the look and shape of the eyes.
Patients usually comment that they look more rested, their eyes seem more open. Women comment on how much easier it is to apply make up after the procedure. The results are typically long lasting.
